MP calls for dialogue between Ruto, Gachagua to iron out differences
Mukurwe-ini Member of Parliament John Kaguchia has called on President William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua to have a sit-down and iron out any differences they may be having to unite the country.
Speaking in Maganjo Primary School where he was inspecting the refurbishing of classrooms, Kaguchia said the two leaders should come together and solve any issues they may be having to unite the rest of the country.
“I’m urging the President and his deputy to agree and have a dialogue and bring to an end any wrangles in order to have peace in the country and also bring development in the country,” Kaguchia said.
Kaguchia said the leaders of the Mt Kenya region have no option other than uniting the electorate as well as all the leaders for the common good of delivering the promises they made to Kenyans.
“The elected leaders must come together and unite and the deputy president must also work together with us. We do not have any other option other than working with the government to deliver to those who elected us,” he said.
The legislator added that at the moment there should be no plans to have political realignment as it would only lead to more divisions.
“This is not the right time to have the political realignments and instead we should focus more on development matters. Discussing new political formations would only create more divisions as we are still in another political party and in government,” the legislator said.
Impeachment against Gachagua
At the same time, he rubbished claims that there are plans by the legislators to file an impeachment motion against the Gachagua in the National Assembly.
“There are no plans to impeach the deputy president in the Parliament and even the DP himself rubbished the claims during his interview at the local Kikuyu stations,” he said.
The legislator also said the region was not short-changed on the appointment of the new cabinet secretaries.
