After getting byes from the preliminary round, Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League big guns led by Gor Mahia, AFC Leopards, and Tusker will return to Mozzart Bet Cup action as the round of 32 takes centre stage tomorrow and Sunday.

A total of 11 matches will be played across the country, as the FKF Premier League takes a break to pave the way for the domestic competition, whose eventual winner pockets Ksh2 million and the ticket to represent the country in the Caf Confederation Cup.

On Saturday (tomorrow), there will be a double-header at Police Sacco Stadium with the main focus on the all-Premier League clash pitting Kenya Police against Posta Rangers before FC Talanta take on lower division side Bungoma Stars. FKF confirmed on Thursday that fans, who will attend the matches, will part with Kshs 3000 for a VVIP ticket, Kshs 1000 for a VIP ticket, and Kshs 200 for a terrace ticket.

Police under Salim Babu qualified for the Round of 32 after defeating Vegpro 2-0 in the preliminary round while Posta under the tutelage of John Kamau dispatched Wisdom Soccer Academy by a similar margin. Bungoma Stars, who will face Talanta, were the underdog surprise of the preliminary round after sending home Bandari FC following a 2-1 victory at Sudi Stadium.

In other matches set for tomorrow, Silibwet will host Sofapaka, Compel will entertain Kajiado FC, while Bomachoge Borabu will come up against SS Assad. On Sunday, action will shift to the top guns as AFC Leopards will be seeking to advance to the next stage as they face minnows PAC University at Police Sacco Stadium. Ingwe under Belgian coach Tomas Trucha, will hope to carry their league form to the domestic competition as they seek to end their trophy drought.

They are currently in a run of eight undefeated matches in the top-flight, including a run of five straight wins, which came to an end in a 0-0 draw against Kakamega Homeboyz last Sunday.

Reigning league champions Gor Mahia will travel to Mombasa for a date against Denmark in Ukunda. K’Ogalo will be chasing for a double as they are firmly perched at the summit of the Premier League table, seven points clear of second-placed Posta Rangers.

Just like Gor Mahia, Robert Matano’s Tusker will be at Ukunda to take on Bumbani Stars at Ukunda Showground. The Brewers reached the final of the competition last season but lost 1-0 to eventual winners Homeboyz, who will face little-known Solian City in El Dama Ravine.

Michael Olunga’s MOFA FC will face league side KCB, Zetech Titans confront Mara Sugar, Karatina Homeboyz face Bidco United, Shalimar host Shabana, Harvest of Hope Africa face Ulinzi Stars while Nyamira Super Eagles will be at home against top-flight side Kariobangi Sharks.
