Homeboyz’s poor run in the ongoing Kenya Cup season faced another headwind after a fifth straight loss on Saturday in the hands of Nondies.

The win meant that Nondies had their second-season victory in the bag as Homeboyz struggle continued.

Meanwhile, Brian Marube’s try and a penalty gave Nondies an 8-0 lead before the break. They extended the lead to 15-0 following a conversion by Salem Adoyo.

Brian Amaitsa scored a rolling maul to extend the lead to a 22-0 margin before it was further stretched to 27-0 by Kennedy Wanyoike.

Wanyoike scored again towards the end to ensure that his side grabbed a 32-0 win, and it would have been a bigger margin had Calvin Sheunda made a successful conversion.

At the RFUEA Ground, Kenya Harlequin got another win following a 24-5 win over Nakuru RFC.

A converted try through their head prop gave Harlequin a 7-0 lead before a penalty stretched their advantage to 10-0.

The margin was reduced when Nakuru scored a try, but Harlequins resilience paid off as they scored another try to have a 17-5 point lead.

A penalty gave Quins a chance to pile more pressure on the opponents, who were reduced to 14 men after Nakuru’s top prop was yellow-carded.

Nakuru exerted more pressure in the second half, and this had an impact as Quin’s lock was sent to the bin for an infringement. Eventually, Quins won what is their fifth victory of the campaign.

Kabras shine

Kabras Sugar were the big winners of the matchday following an 87-0 win over Mwamba at Kakamega Showground.

Derrick Ashihundu starred in the game as he scored a hat trick in the first half that helped the home side register a hugely healthy victory in the end.

Ashihundu opened the score for the Sugar Millers after snatching a lost ball and scoring at the corner before a conversion by Ntabeni Dukisa.

Ashihundu registered his hat-trick moments later and took his tally for the season to nine tries. Dukisa made the resultant conversion to ensure Kabras had a 19-0 lead.

Skipper George Nyambua was sent off, but that did not have a negative impact on Kabras. They had their fifth and sixth tries scored by Alfred Orege and David Bunduki, and conversions by Dukisa stretched the lead to 33-0.

Brian Juma and a conversion by Dukisa saw the lead extend to 40-0 as the second half proved to be a one-sided affair in favour of the home side.

At Nakuru Showground, Menengai Oilers were 23-19 winners over BlakBlad. This meant that Oilers registered their fifth win of the campaign.

KCB see off Leos

KCB managed yet another victory after seeing off Strathmore Leos 36-11 in Ruaraka.

Peter Kilonzo scored the first try for the Bankers before a conversion by Darwin Mukidza gave them a 7-0 lead. The second one was scored by Griffith Musila and a third one by Austin Sikutwa, with Mukiza converting them for a 17-0 lead.

A penalty in the second half ensured that Leos got their first points, but the Bankers mounted a strong response and won a penalty try before a touchdown by Rocky Aguko.

Another try was added by Brian Wahinya for a 36-3 lead before the margin was reduced to 36-11 following another penalty try for Leos.
