Energy Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir has appointed Rose Mkalama and Justus Wabuyabo as Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of Rural Electrification & Renewable Energy Corporation (REREC) and Nuclear Power and Energy Agency (NuPEA) respectively.
Chirchir confirmed the appointment of Mkalama and Wabuyabo as CEOs after heading their agencies in acting capacities for three and six months respectively.
Mkalama was appointed acting CEO of REREC in October, replacing Peter Mbugua who proceeded on terminal leave after serving as the agency boss since 2017.

Wabuyabo, on his part, succeeds Collins Gordon Juma, who left NuPEA following the lapse of his tenure in July. Juma served as NuPEA CEO since 2016.
The graduate of Moi University School of Law joined NuPEA in 2019 as Director, Legal and Regulatory Services and Corporation Secretary.
