CS Namwamba gifts Harambee Stars Ksh2.5M after win against Seychelles
Sports Cabinet Secretary (CS) Ababu Namwamba has gifted Harambee Stars Football Club a cash gift after they beat Minnows Seychelles in the 2026 World Cup qualifier match on Monday.
In a statement shared via his official X account (formerly Twitter), Namwamba noted that the team will be receiving Ksh2.5 million for their exemplary performance during the game.

The match held at the Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny in Abidjan, Ivory, saw Harambee Stars beat their opponent 5-0.
Captain Michael Olunga scored the first two goals for the team in the 3rd and 26th minute, the third goal was scored by Massoud Juma.
After the second half, Rooney Onyango scored the team the fourth goal in the 62nd minute while substitute Benson Omalla scored the fifth goal 73rd minute.
With the win, Kenya has earned three points and risen to position three in group ‘F’.
Last month Azimio la Umoja – One Kenya coalition leader Raila Odinga gifted AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia players Ksh1 million.
At the time, the former premier expressed that he was giving the cash award as a donation and that both teams get Ksh500,000 after an entertaining game.
“Party leader @RailaOdinga has this evening given a cash donation of Ksh500,000 each to @AFCLeopards and @GorMahia_FC after an entertaining match played at the Moi International Sports Centre Kasarani,” Raila said.
