Nyaribo accuses senator of backing impeachment plot
The political rivalry between Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo (pictured)and area senator Okong’o O’mogeni deepened yesterday when the former accused the legislator of undermining his leadership.
“I know he was among my political detractors who raised funds and gave a section of MCAs to have me impeached but their scheme failed,” he stated.
He challenged O’mogeni to play his oversight role as the area senator instead of spending resources to undermine him.
“Currently the national government owes the counties Sh272 billion but O’mogeni, who is supposed to make a follow-up about the money, is busy fighting me,” Nyaribo said.
Speaking during a burial ceremony in Nyaututu village in North Mugirango constituency, Nyaribo asked those who he defeated to accept that they lost and join him in developing the county.
