FKF PL Week 11: AFC Leopards set for stern Posta Rangers test as Gor Mahia host Murang’a Seal
Football Kenya Federation Premier League will enter its 11th week of matchday action, with mouth-watering games expected over the weekend.
Eyes will be on league leaders Posta Rangers, who enjoy a one-point lead at the top of the league standings. The Mailmen were held to a goalless draw by KCB, and this prevented them from widening the gap with Gor Mahia, who are second with 19 points.
Leopards, Rangers duel
Rangers will face AFC Leopards at Ulinzi Stars Complex in a game that they must win in order to keep a considerable gap between them and Gor Mahia, who are unrelenting in their chase for the top position.
This will be a stern test for AFC Leopards, who will be looking for a bounceback after losing 3-2 to Nairobi City Stars in their previous game. Rangers, on the other hand, will be keen to fight for a win in order to return to winning ways.
Although John Kamau’s boys are in good form, they have struggled in this fixture over the course of the season. Out of the 21 games they have met before, Ingwe have emerged winners on 10 occasions; eight games ended in draws, while the current league leaders have only managed three wins.
The giants will not want to lose this fixture because it will add more pressure to their shoulders, and Rangers will want to avoid a defeat in order not to attract more pressure from the surging Gor Mahia.
Gor Mahia vs Murang’a Seal
K’Ogalo, who were held by Kenya Police to a 0-0 stalemate, are also eager to get back to winning ways, but Murang’a Seal, who have shockingly enjoyed a better run in the top flight, will fight for what could be a mighty win since their promotion.
The Premier League debutants know that a win will help knock Gor Mahia from second place. A loss for K’Ogalo will be their first in the season, and this will be a further motivating reason for Seal to fight hard for the three points against the reigning champions.
Meanwhile, there will be three games on Saturday, November 10, with FC Talanta facing Muhoroni Youth, Kakamega Homeboyz playing Sofapaka, and Police facing Ulinzi Stars.
Tusker will host City Stars on Sunday, Shabana, after making changes to the technical unit, will play Nzoia Sugar, and Kariobangi Sharks will battle Bandari.
