KDF Day
The Kenya Defence Force (KDF) will commemorate KDF Day on Saturday, starting at 9:30 a.m. This year’s theme is “One Force One Mission,” with a focus on enhancing national and regional security.
KDF Day is an annual event dedicated to honouring the bravery and gallantry of KDF heroes and heroines. It has been observed since October 2012, following the launch of Operation Linda Nchi in October 2011.
Harambee Stars in Turkey
The Harambee Stars are continuing their preparations for an eagerly anticipated friendly match against Russia, scheduled for Monday, October 16, 2023, in Antalya, Turkey.
Updates on the progress of the players, who have been training in Turkey for five days, will be forthcoming from the camp.
Kenya Lionesses Olympic Qualifiers/WVX 3
The Kenya Lionesses rugby team will be competing in the Olympic qualifiers at the Africa Women’s 7s tournament.
They are placed in a competitive Pool B alongside 2022 silver medalists Madagascar, Zambia, and Ghana, while Pool A includes South Africa, Tunisia, Uganda, and Zimbabwe.
The 15s team will be in action against Spain in the newly launched WVX 3 in Dubai.
Rising Starlets Mission
The Rising Starlets, led by coach Beldine Odemba, will play the second leg of the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifier against Angola on Saturday, October 14, 2023, in Luanda, Angola.
In the first leg, the Rising Starlets secured a 6-1 victory over Angola at home. The outcome of this tie, determined by aggregate score, will determine which team advances to face the winner of the second-round clash between Cameroon and Botswana. Cameroon is leading on aggregate after defeating Botswana 2-0.
