Here is what you need to know in order to get up to speed with today’s happenings.

Ruto’s 4-day Nyanza visit

President William Ruto is today expected to embark on his 4-day tour of the Nyanza region.

During tomorrow’s visit, the country’s Head of State is expected to visit the Kabonyo fish project in Nyando constituency at 10 am.

He is also expected to visit the Lake Basin Development Authority (LBDA) in Kisumu Central Constituency at 11 am. Later at noon, the president will visit Ugenya Lvel IV Hospital in Ugenya Constituency.

On the same day, the country’s first in command is expected to tour the Matumbu Digital Lab in Gem Constituency at 1 pm before attending Gem Member of Parliament (MP) Elisha Ochieng’s Thanksgiving service in the same constituency at 2 pm.

Senate Committee on Health

The Senate Committee on Health is today expected to hold a meeting at the Senate Chamber, Main Parliament Buildings.

The purpose of the meeting is to receive stakeholder submissions on the Digital Health and Social Health Insurance Bills from the following.

A. Government Depts/Agencies

  • Ministry of Health
  • Council of Governors
  • National Health Insurance Fund
  • Insurance Regulatory Authority

B. Worker Representatives

  • Central Organisation of Trade Unions (COTU)

C. Private Sector

  • Federation of Kenya Employers
  • Kenya Healthcare Federation
  • Rural Private Hospitals Association (RUPHA)
  • Association of Kenya Insurers

D. Development Partners

  • IBP Kenya

E. Faith Based Organisations

  • Christian Association of Kenya (CHAK)

Bipartisan committee reconvenes for next course

The Bipartisan Committee is today expected to reconvene for the next course of action following the completion of public hearings.

The meeting will be held at the Bomas of Kenya from 9 am.

African Education and Immigration Conference

Safari Yangu International Organization, Amnesty International USA, Columbia University, Howard University, Smart Data Analytic USA, Tekkstudio USA and Cedar Crest College are today expected to host the African education and immigration conference.

The purpose of the conference is to bring together global learning institutions, technology companies, experts in education, experts in black history, and migration from Africa to the rest of the world.

The conference which will be graced by Education CS Ezekiel Machogu will be held at the Institute of Meteorological Training at Ngong Road opposite Junction Mall from 12 pm to 5 pm.

Walk against LGTQ

A section of Kenyans are today expected to hold a march from Jamia Mosque to the Supreme Court to champion against LGBTQ.

The march dubbed Kenyans Walk Against LGBTQ will begin at 1.30 pm.
