St. Antony Boys High School Aldrine Kibet has been honoured with the prestigious SJAK Sports Personality of the Month Award.

This recognition comes as a result of Kibet’s outstanding performance during St. Anthony’s triumphant campaign in the Kenya Secondary School Games, which took place in Kakamega in August.

Kibet’s remarkable achievement lies in being the first schoolboy ever to clinch the Sports Personality of the Month Award in Kenya.

He not only secured a well-deserved place in the spotlight but also claimed a trophy and a 55-inch TV as tokens of his accomplishment.

Throughout his school’s campaign, Kibet showcased his remarkable skills by scoring an impressive total of 25 goals.

The Sports Journalists Association of Kenya (SJAK) commended the teenager for his exceptional contributions.

“Congratulations to teenager Aldrine Kibet for being named the winner of the SJAK Sports Personality of the Month Award. Kibet was named the Kenya School Games MVP after leading his team St Anthony’s to the National Championship,” a statement SJAK.

In the previous two editions of the award, the accolade was bestowed upon the remarkable Faith Kipyegon, a multiple world record holder, who secured two gold medals at the World Athletics Championships.

Mary Moraa, who achieved gold in the 800-meter event at the same world athletics championships, and the volleyball sensation Sharon Chepchumba were among the esteemed nominees.

It’s worth noting that SJAK has demonstrated its deep appreciation for the extraordinary efforts and contributions made by all sportsmen and women during that exceptional month, highlighting the diverse and remarkable talent within the Kenyan sports landscape.
