Detectives in Ndhiwa, Homa Bay county are actively investigating an incident where a police officer allegedly attacked his boss.

While confirming the incident, the county police commander Samson Kinne noted that the officer, a police constable at Pala police station attacked corporal Koech Kimutai using a machete when he visited his house to question him about the whereabouts of a suspect who had disappeared from custody.

Prior to the incident, the corporal arrested the suspect and detained him in a cell but later found out that the suspect had been released prompting him to pay his junior a visit.

During the unfortunate incident, the constable attempted to hit his boss but he hee managed to shield himself using his right hand sustaining injuries on his palm.

The officer was rushed to a nearby health facility where he is currently undergoing treatment for his injuries.

The assailant was then arrested and frogmarched to the station. The detectives noted tht he will be charged once they conclude investigations.

“He will be charged when investigations are completed,” Kinne stated.

Similar incident

The latest comes barely weeks after a junior officer in Nakuru allegedly shot and killed his boss after a dispute over duty allocation.

According to Nakuru County police commander Samuel Ndanyi, the suspect, Jackson Konga, is sad to have ambushed Sergeant Christopher Kimeli and shot him from behind.

Ndanyi also noted that the accused was detained at the Nakuru central police station pending investigations.

“The two police officers were on duty at the Rift Valley Regional K-9 police unit headquarters when the junior officer allegedly ambushed his colleague and shot him from behind,” Ndanyi stated.

“The officer used a Ceska pistol to shoot his colleague and has since been disarmed and detained at Nakuru Central Police Station to assist in investigations into the incident,” he added.
