African fastest man, Ferdinand Omanyala, is hoping to dazzle the world once again as he gears up for the Josko Lauf Meet in Austria on Saturday, July 29 from 1:30 pm.

Fresh off his magnificent victory in the 100m event at the Monaco Diamond League, Omanyala is determined to give something special in this upcoming meet.

Ferdinard Omanyala’s feat

The Kenyan sprinter made history during the Monaco Diamond League on Friday, July 21, where he clinched the 100m title, becoming the first Kenyan to achieve this remarkable feat.

The Josko Lauf Meet holds a special place for Omanyala, as it was in Austria where he ran his first sub-10-second race back in 2021, recording an impressive 9.96 and 9.86 seconds.

The warm hospitality and support he has received in Austria have left a lasting impression on him, and he aims to repay the fans’ kindness with another spectacular performance.

“Race day!!! Happy to be back in Andorf Austria where I ran my first sub-10s in 2021. 9.96 and 9.86.
The hospitality here has been awesome. Hope to give them something special that they will look back to when I leave here,” he said in a statement on his social media.

This event also serves as a crucial build-up to the much-anticipated World Championships, scheduled to take place from August 19 to 27 in Budapest, Hungary.

Ferdinand Omanyala in Diamond League

The Kenyan sprint sensation has already secured his qualification for the Diamond League Final in Eugene, set for September. However, the pinnacle of his season will be the World Championships in Budapest.

Following the World Championships, Omanyala will travel to Xiamen, China, for the Diamond League event on September 3.

The final stop on Omanyala’s extraordinary season will be the Diamond League finals in Oregon, USA, on September 15.

During the Paris Diamond League, Omanyala secured an impressive second-place finish, showcasing his ability to compete against the world’s best, including the World 200m champion, Noah Lyles.

Omanyala‘s return to the coveted sub-10-second range has been a monumental achievement since his debut in the Diamond League in Rabat.
