Househelp suspected of killing Kilifi Chief Officer used aunt’s ID card to mask her true identity
Fresh details regarding the househelp suspected of stabbing to death Blue Economy chief officer Rahab Karisa have emerged.
Authorities led by Kilifi County Criminal Investigation Officer David Siele revealed that Diana Naliaka has been using her aunt’s identity card for all transactions and communication to mask her true identity.
“It is the same identity card that she registered her mobile phone numbers with, which uses for communication and mobile money transactions,” Siele said.
Police also established that Naliaka was hiding at a friend’s house in Webuye, Bungoma county after committing the heinous act. During her visit, she shared a meal with her friend and changed clothes.
Afterwards, she had a brief meeting with her mother. She handed her the food she had bought her before heading to an unknown destination.
“The friend offered clothes to change and food. She later left, bought some food stuffs for her mother whom she met briefly before setting off on her way to an unknown destination,” Siele added.
Naliaka was arrested on Tuesday, July 25, and later arraigned before the Kilifi law courts today, Thursday, July 27, 2023.
Police have requested to have the suspect detained for 14 more days to pave room for further investigations.
