Embattled Kipsangui school principal finally transferred
The standoff at Kipsangui Secondary School in Uasin Gishu has finally been resolved after the government heeded to residents’ demands and transferred the principal.
Richard Tuimur was transferred after a series of demonstrations by parents and students, citing poor management and high-handedness.
Tuimur’s tenure for the last three years has been characterised by students’ complaints over the poor state of dormitories and other critical infrastructure that has continuously forced them to go on rampage.
The principal was also accused of allegedly compromising education officers within Soy sub-county Uasin Gishu County Director of Education Hassan Khalif, who toured the school yesterday assured that all challenges raised by the stakeholders are being addressed.
