KCPE results to be released soon
By Irene Githinji
The Kenya Certificate of Primary Education(KCPE) exam results could be released any time from now after marking ended on Friday, November 15.
This comes amid complaints by teachers’ unions that examiners were subjected to strenuous workload in a bid to complete the exercise fast.
Save for Kiswahili Insha and English Composition, other tests that were in the form of multiple choices were marked through Optical Mark Recognition (OMR).
Speaking when monitoring the completion of KCPE exam administration on October 31, Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha said the results would be released before Christmas.

“Why do you want to keep the results when they are ready? Candidates should also be able to know what schools they are going to so that parents can have adequate time to prepare” said Magoha.
The government has in recent years been releasing results of national exams early compared to yesteryears.
The CS gave KCPE a clean bill of health, saying that minimal irregularities were reported in an exercise that saw 1,088,986 candidates write their exam.
