CS Magoha releases KCSE 2021 results
Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha has released the 2021 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results.
The exams were done in 10,413 centres.
The papers were disseminated from 483 distribution centres, with CS Magoha supervising the examination distribution and monitoring exercise.
In a televised address from Mitihani House on Saturday, April 23, the CS announced that some 1,038 students managed to score a mean grade of A plain.
Jeriel Ndenda Obura from Mang’u High School emerged as the top KCSE student having scored a mean score of 87.167.
He was followed by Mukukha Timothy of Alliance High School with 87.139 and Job Ngara of Mang’u High School having scored 87.116.
Others were David Chege Kamau of St Joseph’s Boys High School – Kitale (87.104) Musa Tepo Ramadhan of Light Academy (87.103), Cicily Muendo Mutheu of Kenya High School (87.086) and Ian Mwai Toyota of Kakamega School (87.084).
The CS released the results after presenting them to President Uhuru Kenyatta and briefed him on the performance of the students.
On the national exams scheduled for November, the CS affirmed that the exams had been safeguarded, adding that no exam will be leaked despite leaving office in August.
“I advise the Cabinet Secretaries that will come after not to drop the ball in safeguarding the integrity of our national examinations,” CS Magoha said.
Magoha was accompanied by top officials from the Ministry of Education and other stakeholders including the Teachers Services Commission (TSC) Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Nancy Macharia.
Principal Secretary, State Department for Early Learning and Basic Education Dr Julius Jwan was also in attendance.
