Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetang’ula has defended President William Ruto, saying the Head of State has achieved more since he assumed power.
While calling for respect among leaders, Wetang’ula said that Ruto’s critics have focused more on negatives to the point of not seeing good things that have been done by the Kenya Kwanza government.
“Respect among leaders is paramount, and the journey ahead is one we must undertake together.
“President Ruto has served as our leader for two years, yet we often focus on the negatives instead of appreciating the positives. It is time to embrace the progress and development our country is experiencing while acknowledging the pending issues that are in the course of being addressed,” the former Bungoma County Senator said in a statement posted on X on Sunday, November 24, 2024.
While stressing that there is much that Ruto‘s administration has achieved, the former Sirisia Member of Parliament said that the president has also worked hard to ensure there is no division in the country.
“During my address at the Holy Trinity Parish in Saboti Constituency, I reminded leaders that we have a duty to be truthful and transparent with Kenyans about the strides we are making in development. President Ruto recognizes that Kenya is not a country divided into halves of one against the other but needs to be a united nation striving for collective growth,” he added.
Ruto’s critics have been emboldened by the recent attack on the government by the Catholic bishops.
