Murang’a Deputy Governor Maina Kamau has declared interest in Kandara parliamentary seat in the forthcoming general elections.

Kamau, who once served as the area MP between 2007 and 2013, said he would like to get the seat back and complete the work he left unfinished.

Murang’a Governor Mwangi Wa Iria picked Kamau as his deputy in the 2017 general elections for his second term after falling out with his first deputy, Gakure Monyo.

Kamau lost his MP seat to the incumbent Alice Wahome who has now served two terms and still seeking to defend the seat on UDA ticket.

Kamau, while addressing a gathering at Ihura stadium, said he will be vying for the seat on Usawa Kwa Wote party ticket exuding confidence in capturing the seat.

He urged the residents to support his bid promising better service delivery to them.

“When the campaigns start, I will come to the grassroots to seek your support in the poll,” he said.
