Vihiga Boys cruise to Western regional finals with decisive triumph over Senede Secondary

VIHIGA: Kenya’s East Africa Secondary Schools 7-a-side rugby 2023 runners-up, Vihiga Boys, thrashed Senede Secondary 22-0 during the Vihiga County Secondary Schools ball games to qualify for the Western regional championships in Bungoma County.

Senede Boys humbled Chavakali 12-5 in another semi-final to proceed to the final encounter against Vihiga Boys. Vihiga Boys High School demonstrated their East Africa runners-up might during the county final, pulverizing Senede Boys 22-0 in an entirely one-sided game to book a ticket to the Western regional secondary schools ball games, slated for Bungoma County from July 17 to 20 at venues including Kibaabi University, Bungoma High, and Sudi Stadium, among others.

Speaking to People Sport after the final, Vihiga Boys rugby team coach Okore expressed optimism about proceeding beyond the Western regional and national schools’ games set for Kisii County, and once again

qualifying to represent Kenya at the East Africa Schools Championship scheduled for Bukendiya town in Uganda, next to the Malaba border.
