UDA MCA Mark Wainaina dies in hospital

Murang’a Member of County Assembly (MCA) Mark Wainaina is dead. 

Wainaina died while receiving treatment for a severe pulmonary disease that caused both his lungs to fail. 

Confirming his demise, County Assembly Speaker Johnson Mukuha mourned Mark as a leader committed to his duties and a friend. 

He also eulogized the deceased MCA as a dedicated and wise leader, whose leadership strengthen the assembly. 

“It is with profound sadness that we, as the Murang’a County Assembly, mourn the passing of Hon. Mark Wainana.

“Hon. Mark was not only a committed leader but also a friend and pillar of strength to many of us. His unwavering dedication, and wisdom strengthened our Assembly,” Mukuha said. 

The departed MCA’s best friend also eulogized the deceased and announced that he died peacefully after putting an incredible fight with the illness. 

”It is with a heavy heart that I share the news I never thought I’d have to write: we have lost my best friend, Hon. Mark Wainaina. Despite his incredible fight and the tireless efforts of the medical team, Mark passed away peacefully, as confirmed by the final ECG report today,” Wainaina’s best friend, Amos Mwangi wrote. 

Earlier, the family of the deceased and Murang’a Governor Irungu Kang’ata made a public appeal for a fundraiser for the deceased’s medical bills. 

”The Murang’a County Assembly Members Caucus invites you to a fundraising dinner in aid of one of our Members, Hon. Mark G. Wainaina who has been diagnosed with a severe pulmonary disease that has caused both of his lungs to fail,’’ Kang’ata announced.
