Onyango joins Tusker after scoring eight goals in 15 matches for Sofapaka last season.

Expressing his excitement about joining Tusker, Onyango said he is happy to be part of a team that battles for titles each season. He noted that after careful consideration, Tusker was the best move for his footballing career.

“I am thrilled to join Tusker FC, a club with a rich history and one which fights for titles every season. When I analyzed the options on my table, I knew that this was the best move for my career. I look forward to contributing to the team’s success and achieving our collective goals at the end of the season,” Onyango told Tusker media.

Tusker FC interim coach Charles Okere described Onyango as a talented player who will boost their forward line.

“Jacob is a talented striker with the ability to make a significant impact in our squad. His skills and experience will undoubtedly strengthen our attacking options as we aim for success in the upcoming season,” Okere said.

Onyango becomes Tusker’s second signing after Dennis Wanjala, a left-back acquired from Nairobi City Stars. The club is keen to complete their transfer business ahead of their upcoming pre-season tour of Uganda, scheduled for August 4 to August 11, 2024.

During their stay in Uganda, Tusker will engage in three friendly matches against prominent local teams: NEC FC, Kitara FC, and Lugazi FC.

This period will focus on further enhancing their physical conditioning and tactical strategies to ensure they are fully prepared for the upcoming season.
