Tusker FC will be looking to turn the tide around when they face Nairobi City Starts on Saturday, November 23, 2024.

The Brewers are expected to lock horns with Simba wa Nairobi in a highly anticipated match set to be played at Machakos Stadium.

Charles Okere’s charges are currently in seventh place with 11 points in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKF-PL). Tusker FC has played seven games and are winless in their last two games.

They will be looking to reignite their season when they face off with City Stars starting at 1 am.

Speaking ahead of the big match, Okere stated that his side was ready for the battle to restore their decent form.

“We have had almost three weeks of preparation and they have been interesting for us. We have had a series of friendly matches to see the areas which we need to improve from our last game. We have capitalized on that time to improve and strengthen,” coach Okere stated after the team’s final training session.

The team has been on break since the match against KCB on October 26, 2024. Coach Okere believes this time has not only been beneficial to work on tactical and technical areas, but also given injured players time to recover.

“It has been positive because Kibwage (Mike) and Oguta (Dennis) have recovered and are training well with the rest of the players. Chris (Erambo) who also had a slight ankle problem has also managed to come back and has trained very well this last week. However, it is unfortunate we will not have Odoyo (David) and Luvanda (Lawrence) (groin and hamstring). Odoyo has however shown some bit of positive progress and is training lightly with the team so we might have them in the next few days,” the coach revealed.

On the other side, Nairobi City Stars will be looking to extend their winning streak. They head into the encounter full of confidence after back-to-back wins that have lifted them to 13th on the table with eight points from seven matches.

Nicholas Muyoti in his pre-match interview noted that his side is determined to escape with all the maximum points.

Other matches

In other matches, Kakamega Homeboys will play host Bandari FC at the Mumias Complex. The Dockers will be keen to use the match to close the gap with league leaders KCB FC.

Bandari currently sit fourth on the FKF-PL log with 12 points from seven matches. On the other hand, Homeboyz are 14th and need a win to escape the relegation zone.

The newly promoted side Mathare will face off with Posta Rangers who are seeking their first win of the season in a match which will be played at Machakos Stadium.

Sunday, November 24, 2024, would have been a Mashemeji Derby day but the match between Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards was postponed due to lack of a stadium.
