Teacher Service Commission (TSC) Chief Executive Officer Nancy Macharia has said that the commission has enough manpower to oversee this year’s Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination that kicked off today.

Macharia also reiterated that the government is committed to ensuring that candidates in volatile areas of Baringo, Pokot, Laikipia, and Samburu get special attention.

Macharia spoke when she opened the exams container at Nakuru East Deputy County Commissioner’s offices flanked by Treasury CAS Eric Wafukho.

“As TSC, we have availed 70, 486 teachers who have been vetted to administer this examination. We have made strides in the administration of the exam and we can assure the public that we will deliver an irregularity-free exam,” Macharia said.

Wafukho said the government through the Treasury has rolled out financing of the whole examination activities and they expect that the process will be smooth.

On his part, Nakuru County Commissioner Erastus Mbui has said that all examination centres in the region have been marked and security beefed up.

He also asked those dealing with the examination to exercise caution, affirming that there will be no chances of exam malpractices.
