Three people attack traffic officer in Murang’a

A traffic police officer based at Muranga police station is fighting for his life at Muranga General Hospital after being attacked in the line of duty.

The officer is said to have been manning a road block along Murang’a Sagana route when a gang of three people attacked him inflicting serious injuries on him.

The assailants also took away the officer’s firearm.

Muranga North Sub County Police Commander Alex Muasyia said the culprits hit the officer with a blunt object on the head before running away.

He said the matter has been taken up for investigations and they will purse the suspects.

Muasyia urged the members of public to volunteer in giving information which can lead to the arrest of the assailants.
