Robbers raided the ACK Nyahururu diocese offices located at the Christ the King Pro-Cathedral in Nyahururu town and carted away a safe.

Two watchmen who were guarding the offices are admitted in the Nyahururu County hospital with serious injuries after being attacked and left for dead by the gang on Sunday night.

The robbery, that occurred a day after Bishop Samson Gachathi led successful installation of new Diocesan management team, caused massive damage as the suspects broke all doors including to the Bishop’s office.

The gang that ransacked all rooms might have been looking for money raised through offerings during the elaborate Sunday Service.

It is suspected the robbery is an inside job since the robbers knew where CCTV servers and the safe were concealed.

“They vandalized the CCTV system and took away its servers. That way they ensured we don’t have any evidence of what transpired,” George Obure who is one of pastors serving at the Pro-Cathedral said.

Obure said he was called early in the morning by one of the tenants living in rental houses inside the compound informing him that they were unable to leave because the gates were still locked. It was when he arrived that he learnt of the robbery and called in the police.
