Football players that will show exemplary skills in the ongoing Talanta Hela U19 National Tournament will be scouted and their skills honed further in a one-week specialised camp in Nairobi after the final.
Kenya Academy of Sports Chief Executive Officer Doreen Odhiambo has revealed the development, urging the players to express themselves as they fight for the overall title.
“My message to the players is for them to play ethically and professionally and show their talents to the fullest. From this national tournament, we are going to select a dream team for both boys and girls. We intend to have thirty players for each category and they will be put to camp here in Nairobi for seven days for further development of their skills. The scouts are here watching the games and the stage is wide open for players to convey their potential,” Odhiambo told People Sport.
The Talanta Hela U19 National inaugural tournament began on Sunday at the Nyayo Stadium and so far, the games played have been ecstatic.
“We have witnessed great talents and for sure I am impressed with the kind of football that is being displayed. The boys and girls have really done well on the pitch and this is what Talanta Hela is all about; giving every player an opportunity to show their talents regardless of where they come from.
