A nineteen-year-old student died and four other people critically injured in a road accident along the Nairobi – Namanga highway near Kajiado town.

The student had hiked a lift with two fellow students on a lorry ferrying sand towards Kajiado town when the accident occurred on Sunday evening.

The two students, driver and his conductor were critically injured and rushed to Kajiado County Referral Hospital.

Kajiado Central Sub-county Police Commander John Odhiambo said investigations into the accident has been launched.

The body has since been moved to the hospital mortuary and the wreckage towed to Kajiado Police Station.
