Youngster Okutoyi refines skills at French and Australia Open

Kenya’s teen tennis sensation Angela Okutoyi is convinced her interaction with two Grand Slams this year has helped her to improve her game.

The 18-year-old African Junior champion was invited through the Grand Slam Player Development Program (GSPDP) to the Australian Open Junior Championships in January and the French Open (Rolland Garros) that ended last week.

Despite being defeated in two rounds of both tourneys, Okutoyi now believes she has learnt a great deal in the outings and that the experience will build on good things in the coming years.

“Ever since my first slam in January, I feel my confidence has increased and my game has improved quite a bit and that makes me happy,” she said.
