Why AFC Leopards coach Trucha does not sleep well

By , March 8, 2024

AFC Leopards head coach Tomas Trucha has explained how it has become very difficult for him to sleep well, especially ahead of matchdays.

The tactician, whose side has been in top form in the second round of the league, said team selection has always given him headaches to the point of even not sleeping well.

Trucha mentioned how some players, like Musa Oundo, famously known as Pele, have been good.

“We are a big club, and you need competition in every position.

“I am not sleeping well because every night I am thinking about who to play and who not to play because now Pele is suspended and he is also the one to play,” Trucha said, as quoted by a local publication.

In recent games, AFC Leopards have featured as a solid unit, and players have been fighting hard not to lose their slots in the starting XIs given the stiff competition in the squad.

“If you ask me who will play tomorrow, I do not know, because Kayci Odhiambo is doing well, Pele is doing well, Ken is doing well, Arthur (Gitego), Maxwell Otieno, and Brian Yakhama are good players.

“This is why we are AFC and we need to do better in every department,: he added.

Next opponent

AFC Leopards will face a strong opponent in their next Football Kenya Federation Premier League match, Tusker. The Brewers are third and are in the title race, although somewhat distant as compared to league leaders Gor Mahia, who enjoy a 10-point gap at the top.

On the other hand, Ingwe are undefeated this year and will be fighting for another positive outcome when they meet the former champions at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
