The National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula has rallied behind Arsenal ahead of their penultimate Premier League match against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

The Gunners made the trip to Manchester for a game that carries a lot of stakes in the Premier League race. Arsenal will need to win and keep their dreams for a title - last won over two decades ago - much alive going into the final day.

Wetang'ula took a jibe against the Red Devils and asked his X followers about where they will be watching the game.

"Pray for Manchester United. Where are you watching from?" the former Sirisia Member of Parliament said.

As the Gunners take on their rivals at Old Trafford, Mikel Arteta remains optimistic that they can lift the Premier League trophy.

“My brain always takes me to the players lifting the Premier League. That's what my brain is doing at the moment. I just follow my brain and my gut, and this is how I feel, and this is the way that I want everybody to think, and hopefully, we can achieve it.

“We have to think that it’s going to work. We try to be better than our opponents and beat them. The final outcome is something else. At the moment, it’s not in our control," the manager told the club's portal.

United vs Arsenal head-to-head stats

Rashford opened the scoring in September’s reverse fixture, but Martin Odegaard, Declan Rice, and Gabriel Jesus struck to secure a 3-1 Arsenal win at the Emirates Stadium.

They are now looking to complete a league double over United for the first time since 2006-07, while they could also win three straight matches against the Red Devils for the first time since achieving the feat between November 1997 and September 1998.

United, though, have lost just one of their last 16 home Premier League games against Arsenal, winning 10 and drawing five, that lone defeat coming by a 1-0 scoreline behind closed doors in November 2020, according to Opta stats.

Antony scored on his debut while Rashford netted twice in this exact fixture last season, with United ending Arsenal’s perfect start to 2022-23 with a 3-1 win in September 2022.

Arsenal have at least scored on each of their last nine Premier League visits to Old Trafford, having failed to net on 12 of their first 22.
