Tributes pour in for Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed Amina’s late husband

National Olympic Committee of Kenya president Paul Tergat yesterday sent  his condolences to the family of Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed following the death her husband  Khalid Ahmed.

Tergat, currently in Tokyo for the ongoing Olympic Games, said the loss was a huge blow to Amina’s family.

“The news filtering in from Nairobi concerning her bereavement was such a sad development which left Team Kenya contingent in Tokyo devastated.

We express solidarity with the family, Team Kenya, the Olympic family and the entire sporting fraternity in the country,” read NoC-K statement.

Other condolences came from Athletics Kenya Nairobi branch chairman Barnaba Korir  who termed the deceased as an industrialist who was determined to make a positive impact.

Football Kenya Federation boss Nick Mwendwa and his predecessor Sam Nyamweya lso condoled with the family.

On his part Kenya Safari Rally CEO Phineas Kimathi tweeted.

“Quietly came the call, The sudden departure, It has shocked us all. It is a painful goodbye to a friend, husband and father.

He has left many beautiful memories, which never die. We at WRC Safari Rally say Inna Lillahi wa Inna ilayhi raji’un,” read the tweet.
