On Sunday, 2021 world champion Gerwyn Price was eliminated after suffering a shock 3-0 defeat to Wesley Plaisier, ranked world No. 92.

The stunning knockout came just days after Price had confidently predicted he would win the championship.

Littler, Heta and Cullen advance

Defending champion Luke Littler of England advanced in his quest to retain the title with a straight-sets win, despite a strong challenge from David Davies in their second-round clash.

In other matches, Damon Heta battled through against Stefan Bellmont, while Joe Cullen lost 1-3 to Mensur Suljovic, exiting in the second round.

Following his own win over Dennant, Doets described the upcoming match against Munyua as a ‘dream draw,‘ acknowledging that while Munyua is a strong player, he believes he has the edge.

“To be fair, I watched the game live yesterday, him and Mike,” Doets said. “Of course, if I won my game, I was expecting to play Mike in the second round. When David won, it actually gave me a bit of extra pressure.”
