Ryan Ogam bids Tusker FC farewell, backs Brewers to rise again

By , September 4, 2025

Harambee Stars forward Ryan Wesley Ogam has left Tusker FC after sealing a move to Austrian Bundesliga side Wolfsberger AC.

But the striker’s final words to the club showed faith that the Brewers can push for the league crown this season.

The forward joined Tusker in mid-2024 and stayed for just over a year. His spell was cut short by injury, which ruled him out for several months. Even so, he scored important goals and won admiration for his performances in the 2024 African Nations Championship.

On his farewell, on Wednesday, September 4, 2025, Ogam thanked the club and its fans. He admitted his time was brief but insisted the experience was unforgettable.

“I have enjoyed my last year and one month at the club. Though I only played for seven months because of injury, the moments we created together will last forever,” he said.

“We worked together as a team, enjoyed the highs and lows, and I leave with a lot of memories. I wish the team the best in the coming season, and I am confident they can challenge for the title and do even better than we did last season.”

Ceremonious exit

Tusker marked his departure with a ceremony at Ruaraka Grounds. Senior officials from East African Breweries Limited attended, including Group Managing Director Jane Karuku. She praised Ogam’s growth and urged him to carry Tusker’s fighting spirit to Europe.

Ogam was given a guard of honour by his teammates. He also received a customised kit and a framed jersey signed by the playing unit and staff.

His new club, Wolfsberger AC, currently sits sixth in Austria’s top flight. President Dietmar Riegler said they were delighted to sign the Kenyan striker, calling him an “exciting young forward with great potential.”

Ogam will travel after international duty to link up with the Wolves. But even as he begins his European journey, his parting message leaves Tusker with belief. The Brewers now enter the season with his confidence as motivation to chase another league title.
