Ruto to gift Shabana a new bus

The Shabana FC fraternity has conveyed its gratitude to President William Ruto for committing to gift the team a brand-new, modern team bus.

In a statement shared by the team’s Secretary General Elizaphan Kerama, on Friday, August 15, 2025, the club confirmed that Ruto had consented to the significant donation

The club, while lauding the gesture from the president, said it is a demonstration of his faith in one of the clubs commanding a huge following in the country.

“On behalf of the entire Shabana family, our players, technical bench, management, and our millions of passionate fans we extend our heartfelt THANK YOU to H.E. Dr. William Samoei Ruto, CGH, President of the Republic of Kenya, for graciously accepting to gift us a brand new modern team bus,” the club said.

The club has additionally termed the gesture from the president as a boost to the morale of the Gusii-based team.

“Your acceptance of this request is more than a gesture; it is a bold statement of faith in Kenyan football, in the dreams of our players, and in the unbreakable Shabana spirit. This bus will carry not just a team but the hopes, pride, and unity of the Bosongo nation from Kisii to every corner of our beloved country,” it added.

Shabana has additionally pledged to pay back the gesture with good performances and by honourably representing its fans.

FKF PL kick off

The development will see the Tore Bobe among the few clubs with a state-of-the-art bus, which has so far been the preserve of only a few clubs in Kenya.

Gor Mahia earned the gift of a spanking 45-seater bus, donated to them through the Eliud Owalo Foundation, a brainchild of ICT Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo.

AFC Leopards have also been beneficiaries of a modern bus donated to them in 2000 by then-president Uhuru Kenyatta.

Meanwhile, the foregoing comes as the Football Kenya Federation PL club angle for the start of the 2025 season due to kick off in a month’s time.
