Badminton World Federation has allowed Kenya to participate in this year’s Birmingham Games. The decision was made by the BWF Council on February 27, 2022.

This follows an appeal by the National Olympic Committee to allow the Kenyan players to participate despite the suspension which is still in place.

The National Olympic Committee of Kenya held a breakfast meeting with the representatives of the Badminton National Team on 11th March 2022 at the NOC-K offices, to inform players about the Badminton World Federation decision towards Birmingham Commonwealth Games.

NOC-K Secretary General Francis Mutuku issued a statement on the exciting news highlighting NOC-K’s full commitment towards giving opportunities to the Kenyan players.

He also presented the players who will participate in the games.  NOC-K made an appeal to allow CGA to send players to the Birmingham Games.
