Kenya Police thrash Kakamega Homeboyz as Shabana fall again

By , January 6, 2024

Kenya Police humbled Kakamega Homeboyz 3-0 in a Football Kenya Federation Premier League match in South C on Saturday, January 6, 2024.

Police broke the deadlock early in the game when Musa Mohamed, a Premier League-winning captain with Gor Mahia, scored.

The second goal almost came in the 25th minute following a superb combination between David Owino and Clinton Kinanga, but the former could not find the back of the net with the final attempt.

Kinanga failed to make it 2-0 in the late minutes of the second half after an intercepted pass by Kenneth Muguna, only for him to fail to slot home from close range.

Coach Patrick Odhiambo made a second change when the second half began to strengthen the Homeboyz side that struggled in the first half; Ambrose Sifuna came on for Chris Masinza.

On the other hand, Tito Okello and Alvin Mangeni came on for Kinanga and Marvin Nabwire in the two changes for Police.

Five minutes into the second half, Police added their second when Muguna found the back of the net.

At the hour mark, the third goal was scored when Okello, the second-half substitute, struck.

There was a chance for the visitors to deny Police a clean sheet, but Moses Shummah could not find the target as Patrick Matasi was equal to the challenge with the Harambee Star pulling off a safe.

Shabana fall

At the Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay, Muhoroni Youth managed a 1-0 win over Shabana.

The only goal in the encounter was scored by Samwel Adebowale in the 68th minute, and the results mean Muhoroni are out of the danger zone, with the three points propelling them to the 12th position.

On the other hand, Tore Bobe, with 14 points, are 16th.

In another match, Nairobi City Stars defeated FC Talanta 3-0, while Bandari managed a 1-0 victory over visiting Nzoia Sugar.
