Football Kenya Federation Premier League side Police FC is demanding  Sh 4 million from any club interested in the services of their treasured player Duke Abuya.

The Former Nkana and Kariobangi Sharks forward has reportedly signed a two-year deal with Tanzania’s Singida Big Stars despite having a running contract with Police FC.

The club’s boss, Chris Oguso, says Police FC has reported Singida to FIFA for player tapping, insisting that Abuya is still their player.

“Duke Abuya has gone to Singida but it is regrettably unfortunate that he did not follow the laid down process on player transfer.

“We have written to Singida about the matter and told them that they must follow the correct FIFA regulations for the acquisition of any player. As we speak Abuya has an active contract running until 26th October. He is our player,” Oguso told People Daily Sport.

Double signing

Abuya, 28, risks a suspension for a potential double signing while Singida Big Stars could be fined and blocked from signing new players for at least two seasons if found guilty of player tapping according to article 5.2 of FIFA Statues on Transfer of Players.

“I would like to advise all our local players wherever they are that they should respect running contracts with parent clubs. They should not be lured by quick or big money moves. They should follow the processes and failure to do so they will suffer the consequences such as lengthy suspensions,” he advised.

The Harambee Stars forward has been rated highly by Police FC bosses who have now placed a kshs 4m as his price tag.

“Abuya is one of our highly valued players. If any team wants him we are ready to talk,” he said.
