Parklands give KCA campus scare in KHU league

By , October 19, 2022

Despite suffering a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Kenya College of Accountancy (KCA) University in a national hockey Super League match at the weekend, Parklands Sports Club (PSC) has declared that they took a lot of positives in the result.

“The result is not a true reflection of our performance. In fact, we put them (KCA) on the sword for a lengthy part of the match but came short of converting several scoring chances,” said PSC captain Kelly Adolwa.

PSC who have trained their eyes on returning to the top flight league will strongly feel that they deserved something in the match played at City Park after putting KCA under intense pressure.

“We played well but at the end of the day it is results that matter the most. The league is still in its infancy stages and given that we have two matches at hand over KCA, at least a third place finish is ours to lose,” added Adolwa.

Adopt a style

PSC are currently perched in the fifth position in the league chart with Adolwa saying in no uncertain terms that they shall make life quite difficult for their next opponents on the pitch.

He added: “The most important thing in hockey is teamwork and I’m glad that we have perfected the same. If that’s not right then there is no success but we have somehow managed to adopt a style that shall give the rest of our opponents a run for their money,”
