‘Pamzo’ demands immediate reaction from Shabana

Shabana FC coach Sammy ‘Pamzo’Omollo has called on his charges to respond with a positive result when they take on Nairobi City Stars in a Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League fixture at Machakos Stadium on Sunday.
Tore Bobe are struggling to maintain their status in the top flight after a series of poor results that saw the Kisii-based Glamour Boys ring changes to their technical bench by bringing in the former Gor Mahia defender on a permanent deal to replace Sammy Okoth.
Omollo kicked off his reign with a 5-2 win against Nzoia Sugar but lost his second game in charge 1-0 against Ulinzi Stars. The former Posta Rangers and Kenya Police tactician has urged his players to produce an immediate response by beating Simba wa Nairobi in a bid to haul themselves from the relegation zone.
“For Shabana to stay up, I want an immediate reaction from the Ulinzi Stars’ defeat, and we have worked on that (during the short break) and must show it in our next game, we must be hungry for success again, we must push to stay up and it must start in our next match,” said Omollo.
“The situation (relegation battle) that we find ourselves in is not difficult to get out, we just need to stay focused and win our matches, and I have asked my players not to look at the table for now but give everything in our matches.”
Omollo further said he has used the break, which paved the way for the MozzartBet Cup, to keep his players in a good condition before they face a City Stars side that was in a winning run of seven straight matches before losing 2-0 to AFC Leopards in their last assignment.
“I am aware of the kind of results that City Stars have been producing in their last seven matches, they were looking unbeatable as they won all until AFC stopped them, so we must also go into the match with a clear set of mind that we can do it,” said Omollo.
“We had a great time with the players during the break, everyone is looking refreshed and ready with the main focus on City Stars.”
While Shabana are lying second from the bottom of the 18-team table with 17 points from 19 matches, City Stars are lying a pretty second with 33 points.
