Football Kenya Federation (FKF) outfit Murang’a Seal have returned to the market for the services of a new coach following the resignation of Dennis ‘Wise’ Okoth on Tuesday.

Okoth, who joined the promoted side on an interim basis to replace fired head coach Gabriel ‘Kingi’ Njoroge, managed to oversee three top flight matches, losing one and drawing two.

The former international player took to his social media pages to confirm his exit and wished the team well. “There is no elevator to success; you have to take the stairs, wishing you well in your upcoming matches,” wrote Okoth.

Okoth, who previously handled Nairobi City Stars, has been replaced by veteran Juma Abdallah. Okoth’s first match in charge was against AFC Leopards on December 20 which ended in a 1-1 draw, and it was followed by another 1-1 draw against Kariobangi Sharks.

The last straw came on Sunday when Murang’a suffered a 1-0 defeat at home against FC Talanta. Despite enjoying a good start, Murang’a are now sitting 10th on the 18-team table with 24 points from 18 matches. They have managed six wins, six draws and suffered six defeats.

Juma, formerly of Bidco United, will now be in charge when they take on Posta Rangers in their next league fixture on Sunday.

Meanwhile, former Harambee Stars goalkeeper Farouk Shikhalo has officially parted ways with Kakamega Homeboyz. In a statement on his social media pages, Shikhalo said: “I take this opportunity to thank Homeboyz moreso their top management led by chairman Cleophas (Shimanyula) for the time they gave me to play for this great team, it is been a great honour wearing the Homeboyz jersey and would like to wish them success for the remainder season.

Shikhalo moved to Abana Beingo at the start of last season from Bandari FC and was part of the team that lifted the FKF Shield Cup to earn a ticket to represent the country in the CAF Confederatation Cup, where they failed to go past the first preliminary round.
