The National Super League (NSL) enters its final match day with 10 fixtures scheduled around the country, as league safety and promotion playoffs tittle-tattle takes centre stage.

Both Naivas and Nairobi United have a chance at promotion playoffs while Mombasa Elite and Kajiado FC will be playing their hearts out to confirm participation in the NSL next season.

Naivas FC, who could get a promotion ticket through the playoffs, were 1-0 winners over Gusii FC on matchday 37, but remain under pressure from the Naiboys who also registered a 1-0 win over Migori FC.

Only one point separates Naivas and Nairobi United who sit on third and fourth respectively, with the former still needing a win to confirm playoff status.

Naivas face a tricky fixture against SS Assad who will be playing in front of their home crowd in Ukunda while Nairobi United face bottom-placed Silibwet Lions in a fixture slated for Silibwet Green Stadium.

NSL relegation

With Gusii and Silibwet Lions already confirmed for the drop, Mombasa Elite and Kajiado FC will play at home and away respectively in matches that will decide the third team that will join the relegation party.

While one point will be enough for Mombasa Elite to stay in the league for next season, a slip may prove costly in the game of margins where Kajiado needs a win and more than two goals in addition to the coastal outfit losing to be able to retain their status.

Mombasa Elite will welcome Mulembe United at the Serani Sports Club, Mombasa while Kajiado will make the long trip to Cardinal Otunga, Kisii to face an already relegated Gusii Fc.

A 3-0 win over SS Assad at Mumias Sports Complex meant that Mulembe United dodged the chop and will grace the National Super League next season.

Other fixtures will see Champions Mara Sugar take on 14th-placed Vihiga Bullets while Mathare United, who have also gained promotion to the top tier will take on Mombasa Stars at the Dandora Stadium.

All fixtures will kick off simultaneously at 2.00 pm.
