New Kiambu youth CEC promises to make county shine in sports

By , May 13, 2020

Newly-appointed Kiambu County Executive Committee (CEC) member for Youth and Sports, ICT and Communications, Eric Kiriko has promised to revive sport in the area.

Kiriko, who was sworn in last week, says it was high time the county government engaged local youth not only on the standard sports like football and volleyball, but also cycling, squash and other little-known games.

He will initiate incubation centres in all the 12 sub-counties to help identify and nurture talents among the youth as well as recreation facilities.

“For example, we have the KICOSCA games where there has been rushed preparations.

I will ensure we plan early and also initiate sports exercises, practice and engagements even out of season.

We will also start incubation centres to nature talents at early stages,” said Kiriko.
