National Super League side Mathare United have concluded their transfer business by signing seven more players.

The Slum Boys, who are participating in the second tier since they dropped last season from the top flight, are in the second position on the table and are potentially on their way back to the Premier League.

"Mathare United has concluded its mid-season transfer business after acquiring seven players on short-term deals until the end of the season.

"The seven are Donald Ange, Mohammed Kilume, Stephen Okola, Athman Ali, Boaz Maheri, Daniel Odhiambo, and Kevin Alloys," Mathare United said in a statement.

Kilume, Odhiambo, Okola, and Ange made their debuts for the 2008 Premier League champions during their match - which they won by a margin of 2-0 against Silibwet FC.

Ange, a Congolese star, returned to the Eastlands side for his second stint and scored on his debut day.

Ange left the Slum Boys at the end of last season when he joined cross-town rivals Kariobangi Sharks. He scored six goals before a long-term injury kept him out for the second leg of that season, as Mathare suffered relegation in the end.

Mathare also revealed elation and their targets for signing Kilume and Okola.

"Kilume and Okola bring with them much-needed experience as we target promotion back to the Premier League at the first time of asking. Kilume joins from KCB, while Okola has departed Sofapaka for the famous yellow and green of Mathare," the club added.

On the other new signings, Mathare are convinced they will add value to their playing unit.

"Odhiambo, Maheri, and Alloys join from NSL rivals Kibera Black Stars, Nairobi United, and Gusii FC, respectively. They all featured against the club earlier in the season for their respective former sides and impressed the coaching staff immensely.

"Athman is a striker and has made the leap from regional side Kibwezi FC," the statement concluded.

The Slum Boys will be in Kisumu for their next game on Sunday.
