Mapinduzi Cup: Kimanzi names Harambee Stars final squad

By , January 1, 2025

Interim Harambee Stars head coach Francis Kimanzi has named the final squad that will take part in the upcoming Mapinduzi Cup in Zanzibar.

The former Mathare United and Wazito FC tactician has picked 24 players that will represent the country in the invitational tournament between January 3-13, 2025.

Kimanzi and his interim team of coaches had called up 40 players, but that number has been reduced, and the coach has explained what informed his decision.

“We had a large squad initially because we wanted to analyse and give all a chance to show what they can do. All the 40 that were in camp from the onset are really quality players, but we needed just 24 for the Mapinduzi Cup. We now have a base that we will build on ahead of CHAN,” Kimanzi said.

The team will leave Nairobi for Zanzibar on Thursday, January 2, 2025.
