Malkia Strikers star lands a one-year deal in Greece

Malkia Strikers attacker Sharon Chepchumba has signed a professional deal with Greek side Aris Thessaloniki. 

Chepchumba who returned home after a failed stint in the Korean V-league was part of the KCB Women’s volleyball team that recently won the African title. 

The 23-year-old was voted the Most Valuable Player(MVP) at the African championships and this in return earned her the lucrative deal in Greece. 
Under the tutelage of Japheth Munala, Chepchumba and her fellow KCB Women’s Volleyball Club team stunned 10-time African champions Al Ahly Volley Club 3-1 to clinch the 2022 Africa Club Women’s Volleyball Championship gold medal gong. Chepchumba just as she did at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, starred at the tournament, winning the hearts of many admirers.

The towering attacker has meanwhile been drafted to the Malkia Strikers team that will depart to Brazil for the preparation of the World Championships 2022 which will be held in Netherlands and Poland between 27 September – 12 October 2022

Chepchumba is among the many seasoned players drafted into Paul Bitok’s team that will also work under Brazilian coaches led by Luizomar de Moura.

Malkia Strikers are in Group A of the Championship and will face off with African rivals Cameroon, Puerto Rico, hosts Netherlands, Belgium and Italy.
