As the competitions officially begin, rugby 7s action is set to ignite the Bullring in Kakamega from Wednesday, July 30, 2025, to Friday, August 1, 2025, bringing together the finest high school talent from across the country.

Amid the national circuits series, all eyes now shift to the Bullring, where boys’ and girls’ teams will battle it out for national glory ahead of the East Africa Games next week at the same venue.

In the boys’ competition, Pool A features a fierce lineup with Bwake Boys, Kitondo School, Lenana School, and Marsabit High all aiming to dominate early. Pool B is also competitive, with powerhouses Bungoma High and Laiser Hill joined by Musingu Boys and Gede High.

Pool C promises thrilling matchups as St. Mary’s Yala, Nairobi School, MPESA Academy, and Bishop High clash for supremacy. Meanwhile, Pool D is stacked with talent, including former national champions Koyonzo High, hosts St. Peter’s Mumias, Anjego High, and Alliance High.

The girls’ tournament is equally promising, with Pool A featuring St. Joseph’s Girls, Sigoti Girls, Eregi Girls, and Gituamba Girls. In Pool B, Kinale Girls, Shimba Hills, Kimobo High, and St. Mary’s Igoji will lock horns in what is expected to be a tight group.

Pool C brings together St. Theresa, Paul Harris, Madira Girls, and Mbagathi Girls, while Pool D hosts Nyagichenche Girls, Mwira Girls, Itigo Girls, and Karen C Girls in another highly competitive cluster.

Rugby enthusiasts in the country will brace themselves for three days of intense rugby action, sportsmanship, and an opportunity for scouts to spot raw talent. It will also serve as a platform to gauge teams’ readiness for the upcoming East Africa school games, reinforcing Kakamega’s reputation as a rugby-loving county.

Kenya Rugby Union has urged fans, students, and stakeholders to turn up in large numbers and rally behind their teams as the next generation of Kenyan rugby stars light up the Bullring.
