Kenya Rugby Union has unveiled the 2025 National Sevens Circuit leg, KabebeRi 7s, scheduled for Friday, September 5, 2025 at the RFUEA Grounds in Nairobi.

The Division One tournament features the country’s top rugby clubs alongside exciting invitational teams, all vying for glory in one of the circuit’s most competitive fixtures.

Kabeberi 7s draw

Pool A will see heavyweights KCB Rugby lead the charge against Nakuru RFC, Mean Machine, and Invitational 2.  Pool B is headlined by Embu Sevens champions  Strathmore Leos, Kenya Harlequin, and Mwamba RFC, joined by Invitational 1.

Pool C features a university sides pitting MMUST, Daystar Falcons, and Catholic Monks against the Homeboyz RFC. The combination of youthful energy and seasoned campaigners promises unpredictable outcomes in the particular pool.

Pool D brings together Menengai Oilers, Kabras Sugar, Embu RFC, and Invitational 3. This pool could serve as a perfect stage for Embu to test themselves against Kenya Cup giants.

Meanwhile, Strathmore Leos lifted this year’s Embu 7s title courtesy of a commanding 31-21 victory over the KCB Lions at the ASK Njukiri Showgrounds on Sunday, August 24, 2025. Barely a minute into the match, Strathmore’s Nygel Amaitsa sliced through the Lions’ defence like a hot knife through butter to land their first converted try.

Immediately after the restart, Strathmore had a quick turnover in KCB’s 5M line, quickly sent the ball wide to find a fast-paced Victor Mola, who landed a skillfully converted corner post try, extending Strathmore’s lead to 12-0. However, they were not done as of their next restart. Leos pounced on a loose ball, and Staslaus Shikoli landed their third try.

The Willis Ojal charges were not done with clearly indicating their intentions in this final, Barnabus Owuor went over the whitewash, and Arnold Muita added the extras. With seconds left on the clock, KCB seemed to bounce back into the game as they landed a converted try to bring the half-time scores to 07-24 in favour of Strathmore. Strathmore held on to their nerves, protecting their lead with additional scores to walk out of Embu with victory ahead of the Kabeberi Sevens in Nairobi starting on Friday, September 5, 2025, at the RFUEA Grounds.
