KRU unveils 2025 Christie 7s Division Two pools
By Joel Masibo, August 11, 2025The Kenya Rugby Union has released the pool fixtures for the 2025 Christie 7s Division Two tournament, scheduled for Saturday, August 16 and Sunday, August 17, 2025, at the RFUEA Grounds in Nairobi.
The third leg of the National Sevens Circuit will feature 20 teams battling for glory in one of the country’s most anticipated rugby sevens competitions. Participating teams have been drawn into five pools, each promising intense action and showcasing a mix of experienced sides, rising clubs, and student teams.
Division two pools
Pool A brings together Kisumu RFC, Kisii Polytechnic, JKUAT Cougars, and Masaku Rugby. This group promises a blend of physical rugby and tactical play, with Kisumu RFC tipped as early favourites but facing strong competition from the student-heavy JKUAT Cougars and Kisii Polytechnic.
Pool B features Homeboyz RFC, Kabarak University, TUM Marines, and Stomers RFC. Homeboyz and Kabarak highlight the pool, but the coastal flair of TUM Marines could set up some surprise results.
Pool C is home to AP Warriors, Stallions Rugby, Sigalagala Polytechnic, and Cooperative University. It is a group that features teams eager to make a statement at the upcoming competition.
Pool D sees Embu RFC, Kiambu Rugby, Northern Suburbs, and Eagles Rugby square off. Embu RFC and Kiambu Rugby are well known for their unpredictable nature, making Northern Suburbs and Eagles will need to bring their A-game to secure progression.
Pool E rounds out the draw with South Coast Pirates, Ngong Warriors, NYS Spades, and Rongai Morans. Meanwhile, the ongoing National Sevens Circuit competitions are a preparation ahead of this year’s Safari 7S.
The Kenya Rugby Union has already confirmed that the 2025 Edition of the Safari 7s tournament will be held at the Nyayo National Stadium. This will be the first time the tournament shall be held at the facility since 2021, where Shujaa emerged victorious.
The Safari 7s tournament will be held from October 10 to 12, 2025. The tourney will feature an age-grade category, a Women’s category, and a men’s category, as has been the tradition. It is expected to bring in different teams from all over the world competing for the Robin Cahill Trophy.
