KRU releases 2025 Kabeberi Sevens division one fixtures

The Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) has officially released the fixtures for the 2025 Kabeberi Sevens Division One tournament, set to kick off on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at the RFUEA Grounds in Nairobi.

Kabeberi Sevens is a National Sevens circuit leg of the Kenya Rugby Union. The tournament was named after George Mwangi Kabeberi, who passed away on July 10, 1986. George was a former Mwamba RFC player.
Mwamba RFC are the host of this tournament.

Following the release of the pools at the Embu 7s, in Division One, KCB RFC, current circuit leaders, are grouped in Pool A with Nakuru RFC, Mean Machine and Invitees Mombasa RFC.

Pool B features Embu Tournament winners Strathmore Leos, Kenya Harlequins, Hosts Mwamba RFC and invited Impala RFC.

Pool C is led by Varsity sides, MMUST, Daystar Falcons, Catholic Monks and Homeboyz RFC, whilst Pool D will see Menengai Oilers take on rivals, Kabras Sugar, with Embu RFC and the Invited team, Kisumu RFC.

Round one fixtures – Morning battles

The day’s action will begin at 8:57 am, with Nakuru RFC clashing against MSC Rugby. Soon after, defending champions KCB Rugby face Mean Machine at 9:16 am.

Kenya Harlequin will meet Impala RFC at 9:35 am, while Strathmore Leos go head-to-head with Mwamba RFC at 9:5 am.

The mid-morning line-up sees Daystar Falcons taking on Homeboyz RFC at 10:13 am, before MMUST squares off against Catholic Monks at 10:32 am.

At 10:51 am, sugar millers Kabras Sugar will begin their campaign against Kisumu RFC, with Menengai Oilers closing the round against Embu RFC at 11:10 am

Round two fixtures – Afternoon showdowns

The Saturday afternoon session promises even more excitement as the teams return for their second-round encounters.

At 12:07 am, Nakuru RFC will be back in action against Mean Machine, followed by a clash between KCB Rugby and MSC Rugby at 12:26 am.

Kenya Harlequin take on Mwamba RFC at 12:45 pm, before Strathmore Leos battle it out with Impala RFC at 1:04 pm.

The university derby continues as Daystar Falcons face Catholic Monks at 1:23 pm, while MMUST lock horns with Homeboyz RFC at 1:42 pm

Later in the afternoon, Kabras Sugar will challenge Embu RFC at 2:01 pm, before Menengai Oilers meet Kisumu RFC in the final fixture of the day at 2:20 pm.
