Kenya unveils power-packed roster for T20 World Cup Qualifiers, Patel to lead charge

Cricket Kenya (CK) has unveiled a robust 15-member squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifiers commencing today and ending on November 30, in Namibia.
The tournament, adopting a round-robin format with seven teams, will determine the two qualifiers for the 2024 World Cup slated in West Indies & USA. Under the stewardship of former Internationals Josephat Angara and Lameck Onyango, the Kenyan team will be led by the seasoned 34-year-old Kanbis batsman Rakep Patel.
The squad boasts illustrious names such as the enduring 42-year-old all-rounder Collins Obuya from the Obuya Academy, along with the 31-year-old wicket-keeper/batsman Irfan Karim and the left-hand batsman from Nairobi Gymkhana. Also featured are ex-captain and all-rounder Shem Ngoche (34), the dreadlocked batsman Nelson Odhiambo (34), Lucas Oluoch (32), Emmanuel Bundi (30), and Sachin Bhudia (25).
Among the youthful talents selected are Gerald Mwendwa (24), Sukhdeep Singh (22), Pushkar Sharma (23), Vraj Patel (21), Francis Mutua (21), and the 18-year-old Vishil Patel.
